THE
LORD'S TEN COMMANDMENTS
1. You shall have no other gods before Me. (Exodus 20:3 NKJV)
2. You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness
of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that
is in the water under the earth; (Exodus 20:4 NKJV)
3. You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the
Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing
mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. (Exodus
20:5,6 NKJV)
4. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for
the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. (Exodus 20:7
NKJV)
5. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall
labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your
God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your
male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who
is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth,
the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the
Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:8-11 NKJV)
6. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long
upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. (Exodus 20:12 NKJV)
7. You shall not murder. (Exodus 20:13 NKJV)
8. You shall not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14 NKJV)
9. You shall not steal. (Exodus 20:15 NKJV)
10. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. “You
shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s
wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey,
nor anything that is your neighbor’s. (Exodus 20:16,17 NKJV)
JESUS SAID…
If ye love me, keep my
commandments. (John 14:15)
He that hath my commandments, and
keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of
my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (John 14:21)
If ye keep my commandments, ye
shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide
in his love. (John 15:10)
Here is the patience of the saints:
here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
(Revelation 14:12)
Blessed are they that do his
commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in
through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14)
And one of the
scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he
had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And
Jesus answered him, The first of all
the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the
second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is
none other commandment greater than these. (Mark
12:28-31 KJV)
A new commandment
I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also
love one another. (John 13:34 KJV)
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved
you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (John 15:12-14 KJV)
And Jesus came
and spake unto them, saying, All power is given
unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of
the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20 KJV)
THE BIBLE SAYS…
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we
keep his commandments. (1 John 2:3)
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not
his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:4)
For this is the love of God, that we keep his
commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (1 John 5:3)
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his
commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is
his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ,
and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And
hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. (1
John 3:22-24 KJV)
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that
loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit
adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false
witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is
briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling
of the law. (Romans 13:8-10 KJV)
The law of the
Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making
wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the
commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. Moreover by them is thy
servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. (Psalms 19:7, 8,
11 KJV)
The fear of
the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do
his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalm 111:10)
Praise ye the
LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his
commandments. (Psalm 112:1)
And I will
delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved. (Psalm 119:47)
Thy hands have
made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy
commandments. (Psalm 119:73)
Therefore I
love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. (Psalm 119:127)
My son, forget
not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: (Proverbs 3:1)
My son, keep
my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live;
and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. (Proverbs 7:1-3 KJV)
Let us hear
the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for
this is the whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
For the
commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are
the way of life: (Proverbs 6:23)
Thou art near,
O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth. Concerning thy testimonies, I have
known of old that thou hast
founded them for ever. (Psalm 119:151,
152)
